Show & Tell, Eat & Sell
The August meeting is the traditional "sharing" meeting. It's time for the "What I Did on My Summer Vacation" Report. Whether you went to Convergence, saw interesting textiles in an exotic location or stayed home and wove something lovely, let the rest of the guild see what you did.
We'll also be sharing food at our annual potluck. Bring a dish to share. Also bring those overstocked yarns, purchasing errors and other fiber related excess from your stash, sell it to other members and use that money to buy some of their excess stuff. The sale benefits the guild, too. Loom and Shuttle gets 10% of your profits.
Membership
Dues are past due. Dues of $20 were due at the June meeting. If you can't make the meeting send a check made out to "Loom and Shuttle Guild" to Marlene Golden, (please check your roster for her address).Or bring your dues to the meeting.
Members who have reached the age of 80 are Honored Members and are not required to pay dues. They are, however, required to let someone on the board know. We make no assumptions of age.
The new roster will be ready for the October meeting.

Loom and Shuttle History
A big round of applause for Marion Norberg, who has been doing a wonderful job of documenting guild activities. Every meeting Marion brings the most recent history book and it's jam packed with photos and notes. Take a look at the next meeting. For the rest of the history books, check the library.
Bird Challenge
Those of you who haven't already submitted information about your bird, please bring your draft, fiber content, inspiration and any other pertinent information to the meeting or send it to Kathy Murphy, (check the roster). The book is almost complete. Don't be the last bird to fly in.
See Photos of the Bird Challenge ! - Thanks to Kathy for sending me the photos, we have a gallery page again !
Container Challenge
The new Guild challenge for our December meeting: make a Container. Weave a tote or handbag or create a container, which does include garments, a container for the body. One of the latest Handwovens has directions on how to weave using a box as a tapestry loom. We'll have fun seeing how creative our wonderful members can be.
